israel today | Obama, Sarkozy dont like Netanyahu – israel today

Skilled Workman Posted on November 8, 2011 by David BergslandNovember 8, 2011

israel today | Obama, Sarkozy dont like Netanyahu – israel today. I just thought you might like to see the blatant prejudice against Israel. Sometimes it gets tiring. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Maranatha!

Are you getting nervous? I’m excited

Skilled Workman Posted on October 26, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

For those of us who have been around long enough, this time is unusually chaotic. I read this in Dr. David Reagan’s article this morning. Everywhere we look, in every direction, the world appears to be falling apart. We are racked by wars and rumors of wars. Immorality and violence are rampant. Our money is being devalued and debased. Our educational systems have been hijacked by Humanists and Atheists. Our political systems are gridlocked by value wars and … Continue reading →

Accused of being religious?

Skilled Workman Posted on October 14, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Accused of being religious — I hope not. What a horrible thing that is! I am certainly not religious, at least not too much. According to dictionary.com: a religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. The problem is that sets are defined and God is beyond definition—at least my God is. Sets of beliefs become merely  points of argument: think waste of time. Yes, I can define many of my beliefs. Many of them are Biblical. I do see the … Continue reading →

Steve Jobs and The Great Commission

Skilled Workman Posted on October 6, 2011 by David BergslandOctober 6, 2011

Steve Jobs and The Great Commission. Dr.Milton makes some very good points. Like I have often said, the push behind this technology is clearly part of the scenario bringing in the end of the age. It goes far beyond the whole world being able to see the two witnesses lying dead in Jerusalem. The Antichrist needs it and the Lord has clearly used it. I’ve been Mac only since 1991 (except for a couple of horrible years … Continue reading →

The mission of the church during apostasy

Skilled Workman Posted on October 6, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

The mission of the church during apostasy. Things have gotten much worse during the nearly ten years since I wrote this post. Let’s get one thing straight, I am not a fan of the organizations I see. My experiences with the church organizations of the 21st century are not good, and I expect them to get worse. [Ed: though we finally found one In Rochester, NY in 2019.] Back in 2011, I had just heard about the … Continue reading →

A look at the ebook revolution: known & unknown

Skilled Workman Posted on October 3, 2011 by David BergslandOctober 3, 2011

Four years into the ebook revolution: things we know and things we don’t know – The Shatzkin Files. I received a link to this from Joel this morning. It’s a good review and an eye-opener, if you haven’t been paying attention. Mike says: “One could say (and I would) that the ereading revolution is coming up to its 4th anniversary since it was late November 2007 when Amazon first released the Kindle. There had been dedicated ereading … Continue reading →

Book Making: Lightning Source vs. CreateSpace from Michael Marcus

Skilled Workman Posted on September 20, 2011 by David BergslandSeptember 20, 2011

Book Making: Lightning Source vs. CreateSpace again. I’ve always been happy with Createspace. I like Lulu for many things. I’ve never tried Lightning Source, but this leads me to believe I’ve not missed, much.

Why I switched back to Fontographer 5.1

Skilled Workman Posted on September 13, 2011 by David BergslandSeptember 13, 2011

Personally, I started in Fontographer in the early 1990s and gradually built a little sideline of designing fonts. They were selling a little on Myfonts. When OpenType became viable with the release of InDesign I needed to find something else. My old version of Fontographer would not run in Mac OSX very well. Thomas Phinney, then of Adobe, told me I had no option but to go to FontLab. This transformed my career. I learned how to write … Continue reading →

Writing in InDesign update published…

Skilled Workman Posted on July 30, 2011 by David BergslandAugust 13, 2011

Today I published a carefully constructed revision of the original 7×10 book as a 6×9 book on Lulu, Createspace, and Scribd. Due to a find and replace flaw in the original, many of the “we are”s were converted to I are and all the similar permutations that go with that kind of mental clumsiness. In the process, InDesign went through a spasm and damaged several of the images, so I fixed all of that. It does all … Continue reading →

Thank you for the trial, Lord

Skilled Workman Posted on July 24, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Thank you for the trial , Lord. I was listening to John Hagee this morning. He was on one of his wonderful tirades again about the glory of Jesus. But then he slipped into something I have heard over and over since becoming a believer as I studied scripture. Sadly, I rarely hear it from the pulpit. Rejoice in your trials Maybe the NASB puts it better: exult in our tribulations [Romans 5:3]. Pastor Hagee was talking about … Continue reading →
