Curation: a main focus of your blog

Skilled Workman Posted on August 3, 2015 by David BergslandAugust 3, 2015

Book business has a good article today entitled: Are content curators becoming more important than content creators? In many ways they are, especially in niches for non-fiction. For example, on my companion blog, Reality Calling, it’s main purpose has become the curation of Christian speculative fiction. These books are hard to find because the major book sites like Amazon, Nook, iBooks, and Kobo have no way to effectively search for them. So, my constant book reviews provide a way for … Continue reading →

Returning to InDesign CC (2014)

Skilled Workman Posted on August 3, 2015 by David BergslandAugust 3, 2015

Some of you have wondered why there’s been no update to CC (2015) in the book. Basically nothing was changed, I thought. So, I found no reason to update though I was using the new version for my production. It works very well. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to temporarily go back to (2014) for InDesign. I’ve been working a very limited schedule lately due to other things I need to get done. … Continue reading →

Jesus attacked religious legalists – hard and often

Skilled Workman Posted on February 3, 2012 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Jesus attacked religious legalists vigorously. He saw them as one of his main enemies. Today I want to talk about what Jesus said when he was invited to dinner one night. He was talking about his host and his friends. “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe…herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. …Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk … Continue reading →

If Apple launches their Self-Publishing Program? | Good E-Reader – ebook Reader and Tablet PC News

Skilled Workman Posted on January 9, 2012 by David BergslandJanuary 9, 2012

What does it mean for Aggregator Companies if Apple launches their Self-Publishing Program? | Good E-Reader – ebook Reader and Tablet PC News. I would assume this must be good, right? More options for we the authors. But that remains to be seen. How will this affect you? I’m not sure it will affect me at all—unless, of course, Apple uses this like Amazon is doing, to cut off competition.

In-pew missionaries to an apostate church are needed

Skilled Workman Posted on December 15, 2011 by David BergslandJune 12, 2020

In-pew missionaries to an apostate church are needed, but it’s a rough ministry. One of the huge changes in the church over the past four decades, beyond the exodus from the mainline denominations, through the me generations, is the growing fact of an apostate church. We are certainly not surprised—as Paul told us about this in II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes … Continue reading →

Are you getting nervous? I’m excited

Skilled Workman Posted on October 26, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

For those of us who have been around long enough, this time is unusually chaotic. I read this in Dr. David Reagan’s article this morning. Everywhere we look, in every direction, the world appears to be falling apart. We are racked by wars and rumors of wars. Immorality and violence are rampant. Our money is being devalued and debased. Our educational systems have been hijacked by Humanists and Atheists. Our political systems are gridlocked by value wars and … Continue reading →

Christendom Is Done, Thank God

Skilled Workman Posted on May 30, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Christendom Is Done , Now What Do We Do? – Desiring God. I must admit, this one surprised me. Christendom was never a good idea and I was of the opinion that it died a century ago. The reason I say good riddance is my issues with the basic concept of a “church” made up of self-sustaining legal organizations as opposed to being made up of ministries of men and women led by God. One of the quotes … Continue reading →

Mental Masturbation or anointed teaching – beware

Skilled Workman Posted on April 29, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Mental Masturbation or anointed teaching – beware as it matters a lot. If your teaching gets you off and does not change the students, you’ve messed up, big time. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will thwart.” Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For … Continue reading →

Give up your rights!

Skilled Workman Posted on February 18, 2011 by David BergslandFebruary 18, 2011

This is an excerpt from “Knowing Jesus as His Bride” As Americans we have some unique problems that people do not in other countries. We believe we have rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To those we have added the rights of privacy, fairness, prosperity, opportunity, freedom of religion, weapons, fair trials, grand juries, reasonable treatment, and much more. We expect these things. They are our right! The marketing world would have us believe that … Continue reading →
