Resources for in-pew missionaries

Skilled Workman Posted on December 1, 2011 by David BergslandJune 29, 2020

Resources for in-pew missionaries because this is rough work. Ever since He called me and I met the Lord in 1974, my heart has been hurting for the members in the pews of traditional churches. As the traditional church trudges on toward the coming of Jesus, it and the post-modern church in general, have largely left the faith. The Great Falling Away is certainly in process. We are seeing the birth of the delusion talked about in … Continue reading →

Updates to the blog…

Skilled Workman Posted on November 29, 2011 by David BergslandNovember 29, 2011

In my ongoing effort to separate my publishing/design career from my “real” life as a prophet/teacher in the Kingdom of God, I have updated the Skilled Workman to to bring it more inline with my current usage. The Skilled Workman is the blog of Hannaniah Fellowship For my professional work in typography, font design, and on-demand publishing using InDesign you should go to: Font Design & Typography All I am doing is making official the split which … Continue reading →

It’s not easy to join a church

Skilled Workman Posted on November 29, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

It’s not easy to join a church as we approach the end of the church age. As more and more churches fall into apostacy, we are seeing remarkably inventive ways to compromise the Gospel. For example, Jesus is seen as a wide, obvious gate. The way that the post-modern church teaches, the gate is not very narrow.  There are several common practices in the modern church that seem to provide a wide open gate. Salvation through baptism is … Continue reading →

Jesus is the narrow gate

Skilled Workman Posted on November 28, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Jesus is the narrow gate and you should always remember the words of Jesus about this narrow gate. They are words the church does not want to hear in this modern age of political correctness (PC). But we really need to consider the implications. “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life … Continue reading →

But Lord, Lord…Sorry! I never knew you

Skilled Workman Posted on November 18, 2011 by David BergslandNovember 25, 2021

I never knew you — this is an edited excerpt from a potential new book eventually called “The Narrow Gate”. What could be worse than hearing I never knew you from the Lord? It seems as if many will hear just that. Let’s look at a quote from Luke: Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them,  “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say … Continue reading →

Christian Thriller: Spitzer Hafen by Randall Franklin

Skilled Workman Posted on November 7, 2011 by David BergslandNovember 7, 2011

When I received my review copy from the author, I was a little concerned. My experience with Christian thrillers has often been boredom. As I started reading it, I was immediately drawn into the story. My only concern originally was that the evil dudes weren’t nasty enough, but they were truly horrid as I got to know them–absolutely ruthless. They were just always laughing and having a good time as they destroyed their targets and wreaked havoc … Continue reading →

From Mason to Minister: a gentle ride

Skilled Workman Posted on October 29, 2011 by David BergslandOctober 29, 2011

When Nordskog Publishing sent me this book to review: “From Mason to Minister Through the Lattice” I was expecting another Masonic expose. I’ve certainly seen enough of those and I’m well aware of the problems with the Masonic religion as practiced by the more occultic members. However, this book is not about that. The Lord can use anything to save his sheep What I found was a delightful story about a man who was saved through … Continue reading →

Are you getting nervous? I’m excited

Skilled Workman Posted on October 26, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

For those of us who have been around long enough, this time is unusually chaotic. I read this in Dr. David Reagan’s article this morning. Everywhere we look, in every direction, the world appears to be falling apart. We are racked by wars and rumors of wars. Immorality and violence are rampant. Our money is being devalued and debased. Our educational systems have been hijacked by Humanists and Atheists. Our political systems are gridlocked by value wars and … Continue reading →

Accused of being religious?

Skilled Workman Posted on October 14, 2011 by David BergslandMarch 23, 2020

Accused of being religious — I hope not. What a horrible thing that is! I am certainly not religious, at least not too much. According to dictionary.com: a religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. The problem is that sets are defined and God is beyond definition—at least my God is. Sets of beliefs become merely  points of argument: think waste of time. Yes, I can define many of my beliefs. Many of them are Biblical. I do see the … Continue reading →
