But you learn by doing: is your hardware/software good enough?

Skilled Workman Posted on July 2, 2012 by David BergslandJuly 2, 2012

You learn by doing, and there is a lot to learn: typography, page layout, printing limitations, ebook limitations, and much more. BUT! You can do it simply, line upon line, precept upon precept, as you grow into the publisher you need to be. How long will it take? That depends on how seriously you take your work and assignments. I used to teach this stuff in two intense semesters to people starting from scratch who were not … Continue reading →

Relative to page, essential for ePUB images

Skilled Workman Posted on April 30, 2011 by David BergslandApril 30, 2011

But for the iPad, relative to page solved my problems (as long as … Continue reading →

So: you need to provide ministry resources?

Skilled Workman Posted on April 12, 2011 by David BergslandApril 12, 2011

Now there is some real help. InDesign has been the best page layout tool for print for over a decade now. I was blessed to be in on the beta team for version one in 1999. I can remember how excited I was that there was finally a software tool I could use fluently that fit the way I think. Now InDesign 7.5 for the Design Premium suite CS5.5 is here I don’t know when it will … Continue reading →

This site uses the pseudonyms of Bergsland Design for design work; and Radiqx Press for publishing. Both of these have been used for some time beginning in the past millennium. The Skilled Workman was begun in 2011 dealing with spiritual teachings about our Messiah and the Holy Spirit he sent to us to help us. If you want to meet Jesus, click here.
