Some thoughts on a conversational relationship

Skilled Workman Posted on November 25, 2021 by David BergslandDecember 8, 2023

Here are some thoughts on a conversational relationship with the Lord. This is extremely important—quite possibly required. Take it seriously, please. It’s not for nothing that Jesus talked to His disciples in the context of marriage. We are not called the Bride of Christ for no reason. What Jesus wants from each of us is intimacy. But it doesn’t just happen. You need to spend time on developing this relationship. It’s very much on the level of … Continue reading →

The encouraging prophetic hope delivers joy

Skilled Workman Posted on October 20, 2021 by David BergslandOctober 20, 2021

The encouraging prophetic hope — within our current state of  big brother overreach, societal fragmentation, and evil lying delusion — delivers immense joy to us. The kosmos, Satan’s worldly kingdom, will disappear — totally destroyed. The end is near. Today this post concerns the Bride — I’m not sure this will be available to the general population in the millennium. But it is almost a sure thing for the redesigned creation after Almighty God dissolves this reality in … Continue reading →

The Maranatha exclamation shows your desire

Skilled Workman Posted on October 4, 2021 by David BergslandOctober 4, 2021

The Maranatha exclamation shows your desire. Come, My Lord! [the meaning of Maranatha] has come to be expressed by those of us who earnestly desire the Lord to come back, today—if possible. The difficult communication by faith with Jesus will be replaced by knowing as we are presently known by Him. We will have open conscious communication with Jesus at all times. What a wonderful thing! Has it occurred to you that this desire may be required? … Continue reading →

Black and white often provides focus

Skilled Workman Posted on March 8, 2021 by David BergslandMarch 8, 2021

Throughout my life as an artist/designer I have been struck with how black and white often provides focus. It’s  beautiful visual decision, but it tends to be more difficult than color. Elegance and simplicity are very hard to achieve without being stark and lifeless. The painting on the left is the first one I painted after I met Jesus in January, 1974. Being left-handed, it reads from right to left. The simple exuberance of leaving the chaos … Continue reading →

Developing Christian spiritual maturity

Skilled Workman Posted on July 13, 2020 by David BergslandJune 13, 2024

Developing Christian spiritual maturity should be a normal progression in the faith. It’s not—partially because it’s not taught. This part of the strait and narrow path is rarely talked about—maturity develops naturally, right? Wrong! If it were automatic, we’d see far more mature Christians than we do. Growing old happens automatically. Maturity does not happen. It develops through dedication, focus, and perseverance. Much of what this series of posts will talk about comes through experience. The writer … Continue reading →

Is child-like faith conversion required to be mature

Skilled Workman Posted on April 19, 2020 by David BergslandApril 19, 2020

Is child-like faith conversion required to be mature? Here we see an underlying reason why Satan has worked so hard to destroy the family. Beginning in the fifties, the world has relentlessly ridiculed fathers, expected women to take control, empowered children, sexualized society, driven material prosperity, and all the rest. One of the results of this happens to many. My child-like trust of my father in the flesh was basically destroyed when I was six and seven … Continue reading →

The Advanced Discipleship series: books for the hungry believer

Skilled Workman Posted on February 17, 2015 by David BergslandFebruary 17, 2015

There are two books released so far in this series: The Narrow Gate and Knowing Jesus As his Bride.   Knowing Jesus as His Bride This is the core of the Gospel providing what may prove to be necessary knowledge for salvation. If we are Jesus’ Bride, are we prepared to be a good wife to the man we love? To do that we must know Him intimately. What most people do not know is that this intimate … Continue reading →

Give up your rights!

Skilled Workman Posted on February 18, 2011 by David BergslandFebruary 18, 2011

This is an excerpt from “Knowing Jesus as His Bride” As Americans we have some unique problems that people do not in other countries. We believe we have rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To those we have added the rights of privacy, fairness, prosperity, opportunity, freedom of religion, weapons, fair trials, grand juries, reasonable treatment, and much more. We expect these things. They are our right! The marketing world would have us believe that … Continue reading →
