Warning — prophetic illiterates wakeup
Warning — prophetic illiterates wakeup before you miss your chance! It is likely that you have no real idea what is happening to the world. But, the Bible has given us a lot of specific information.
The Lord slapped me upside the head yesterday. I was watching and listening to a YouTube presentation and the speaker casually mentioned the duty of prophetic scholars —to warn the people. I was deeply convicted. Though I’ve been studying Bible prophecy since the mid-1970s, I’ve become so tired of the mockers and scoffers that I have pulled back to only talking to believers who understood at least a little of what the Lord has told us. I repented, and this post is the result of that repentance. I ask you all to forgive me.
Prophecy is a major theme of the Bible
Many people have no idea that over a quarter of the entire Bible is prophetic [somewhere between 27% and 32% according to how you count things]. In addition, most people are not aware that this is one of the unique attributes of our God. No other God or religion offers prophecy — especially fulfilled prophecy. Read Isaiah 46: 9 & 10 from the King James below:
…I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
When Jesus of Nazareth came to earth over two thousand years ago, he exactly fulfilled well over a hundred specific prophecies (over three hundred if you include duplicates). One simple example: when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on the day we now call Palm Sunday, He specifically fulfilled prophecies that our Messiah would ride in on a donkey on a specific date prophesied by Daniel the prophet around six hundred—yes, 600—years before it happened. He made his triumphal appearance on the exact day foretold by Daniel, who was writing in exile in Babylon and Persia. We suspect that Daniel’s writings stored in Persia were the trigger for the Wise Men, who may well have been counting the years, and possibly even the days.
All prophetic illiterates need to wakeup and repent — or go to Hell
This is not a minor thing because the Lord has made it clear that the world events in our day will take us to a place where it will be too late. Going to Heaven is a limited time offer. Prior to 1948, the church mainly ignored prophecy because the triggers for the end times, and the wrath of God, were not possible because it was too incredible to be believed.
Those of us who study prophecy now can look back into history and see that these days were set up, prepared, and set in motion beginning in the late nineteenth century. But very few paid any attention, because the triggering event was ridiculous. There was no way for it to ever happen. Such a thing had never happened in the history of the world. God had made it clear in scripture that the last days, the end times, could never happen until the Jews were gathered from the ends of the Earth into a new country of Israel. That was just stupid and completely impossible. There were even prophecies that this would happen in one day. The whole thing was absurd.
But Almighty God knew what He was going to do, and He did it. Slowly and surely, through two World Wars, He prepared the Jews and delivered them. Hitler tried to stop it by killing all of them. But it motivated those who survived. It was an amazing, compelling act of fulfilled prophecy, when:
Israel became a nation in one day in 1948 through a proclamation
And the final prophetic clock began ticking. The importance of this event can hardly be overstated. Though it is true that Jesus voluntarily dying a shameful death, shedding His Blood to enable us to be forgiven, and rising from the dead was and is a much more powerful and essential prophetic fulfillment. But all of it is fulfilled prophecy.
By the time I was called by Jesus to repent and join Him in 1974, the study of prophecy had grown exponentially. The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey, ghost written by Carole C. Carlson, had been released in 1970. It was released by a secular publisher in 1973 and became the bestselling nonfiction book of the 1970s. Currently, it’s sold well over 28,000,000 copies. I read it in 1975 and soon became a non-professional prophetic scholar. I have seriously sought the Lord about these things, and I’m convinced He has guided my research and prayers for wisdom.
Since Israel was regathered, phenomenal amounts of prophecy have been fulfilled. We’ve all learned a great deal since the release of Hal’s book. Today there are strong teaching ministries about all of this. For a solid start of reliable resources, I recommend Christ in Prophecy and David Reagan, Perry Stone, Behold Israel and Amir Tsarfati, Olive Tree Views and Jan Markell. There are countless more, and many are excellent — and many are not. Opinions are like noses, everyone has one. I have dozens of posts in my Prophecy category. But, the ignorant need to rouse themselves before it is too late.
Why prophetic illiterates need to wakeup — a brief synopsis
Here is a brief partial list of prophecy fulfilled since 1948, now that we are so far along the process. Things which have never happened before at the same time are making many things obvious. We used to see fulfillments separately or sequentially. Now we deal with them en masse, all at the same time. Now in 2021, even the enemy of our souls is bold enough to tell the world exactly what he is doing. You probably know that as the Great Reset. Let me just mention a few things briefly as bullet points:
- Jerusalem had to be made the capital of Israel
- Israel must be surrounded by enemies
- America must decline
- We’d see a great increase in natural disasters like plague, volcanos, earthquakes, hurricanes, and so on
- virtually countless wars
- ethnicity against ethnicity [usually translated as nation against nation]
- Christianity must be persecuted
- prophecy must be mocked
- Israel will be hated
- Jerusalem must become a major source of contention and conflict
- Alliances must be made between Russia, Iran, Turkey
- Globalism must rise
There are many more fulfillments which have already occurred, but surely you can see the problem. Here is one more thing to consider. In the history of mankind, there have only been two events which shut down the entire world: the Covid plague and Noah’s Flood.
One major event is coming soon. The term used is imminent — it can happen any day. The Lord Jesus is coming in the clouds to pick up His bride. It will not been seen by anyone except His Bride. It will not even be noticed until it has happened and is completed.
The Bride of the Messiah is leaving soon!
This is where the rubber meets the road. The Bride is made up of all the people who have repented of their sin and asked for forgiveness, then turned to Jesus, and made Him their Lord. In the Bible [John’s Gospel, chapter three], Jesus told Nicodemus that unless a person is born from above, born of God, they can’t even see the Kingdom of God. It’s an absolute requirement.
There’s only one more requirement, a person must have a personal, conversational relationship with Jesus. Both of these requirements are easy to fulfill. All you need to do is ask Him. Something like, “Jesus, I need to know if you are real, and what I need to do.” He will be happy to tell you. He will be delighted to do that. He may send a person to help you through it, but that is not necessary. Turn to Him and ask Him.
Once the Bride has left, she is complete. There will be no more possibility of joining. What is left will be God’s dealings with His people, Israel. It doesn’t matter how you feel about that. That is reality, the Truth. I’ll close with one final phrase.
Jesus is Lord, like it or not!
