Peace relax mitigations working better than 1918. I received a post from Grady’s Fire in my bones blog today. As you can see from the graphic he used, to the left, we tried many of the same things in 1918. I know it’s different times—no air travel then, we had no antibiotics to use until WWII, no anti-virals, and many more things.

BUT, with 103,000,000 people in that day and 675,000 killed, that’s .5% killed. If we have .5% killed today with 341,000,000 people, we’ll see 1,655,000 dead. But Fauci and Birx believe it may be less than 200,000—maybe quite a bit less. So, turn to the Lord and trust Him. If you don’t know Him—introduce yourself.

Epidemics are a truly dangerous problem. A pandemic seems to be new. Plus, it certainly lines up with what Jesus told us would happen right before He comes back to reign as King from Jerusalem for 1000 years. I have little doubt this is one of the birth pangs Jesus talked about.

But, we also need to remember that the 1918 epidemic was during WWI. This was where the birth pangs started. This time resulted in the first major prophecy fulfilled, The Balfour Declaration. At this point, the prophetic countdown to the Second Coming truly started.

This pandemic is a global call to prayer and repentance

In Joel C. Rosenberg’s blog post yesterday, he shared a poll which states that “44% of Americans say (this) virus (is) a “wake up call” to return to God. Nearly 1/3 believe we are living in “what the Bible calls the last days.” Later on in the post, he he shares:

The breakdown of those who believe this crisis is a “wake-up call” back to faith in God includes:

• 25% of self-identified “secular” Americans;
• 42% of Jewish Americans;
• 58% of Republicans; and
• 41% of Democrats, including 34% of liberal Democrats and 47% of moderate Democrats.

That’s right! A quarter of non-believers believe it’s a wakeup call

It’s a time to reach out to non-believers you know (as I am doing with this post) to ask, “Are you all right? Can I help?” Pray that they’ll be set free from fear. Don’t you dare shove Jesus down their throat, unless you have a clear rhema that you are to do this for this particular person. Only the Holy Spirit knows who is ready to listen and repent. But, there are respected Rabbis in Israel this week saying that they expect the Messiah before Passover.

Clean up your act! The Lord could come to pick up the church any moment now

We need to be praying that we’ll be found worthy to escape the wrath to come. Jesus himself told us to do that.

Therefore watch always and pray that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen and to stand before the Son of Man.
