Amico is my best effort so far (in my humble opinion, of course) in the design of a humanist, readable sans for headings & sidebars in my multi-page booklets. Its roots should be obvious. The details are clearly mine. But, my favorite sans fonts are Gill Sans, Frutiger, and especially Corinthian Light. amico belongs in that design group, for sure.

This stylized sans font design has rapidly become the workhorse sans in most of my projects. The OpenFeatures make it the sans of choice for complex sets of styles in InDesign. It was designed as the Sans headers and sidebars to go with the other major release for the year: Amitale Book.

This is my second major attempt to produce a family of font designs for use in books, newsletters, magazines, and newspapers. I have had many requests for such a font over the years.

The first attempt was Ardone, but there were too many conceptual problems with those glyphs to make that family work. Amitale has the same roots, Minister, Diaconia, & Bergsland Pro, but the new fonts are drawn much better.

I have been using these two fonts together a great deal and they work as well as I had hoped for the type of projects I do. Please let me know what your experience is, and I'll post it here.
